Entry of Overseas Students-Who Can Enter Taiwan?

According to the Ministry of Education (M.O.E.), Taiwan is now open border to the following outbound students:
Besides nationality, students should qualify one of the statuses as followed:
Non-degree outbound students are not yet allowed to apply for visa or enter Taiwan.
If you are new degree students(enrolled for the academic year 2020-2021) and NOT from previous 19 countries/regions, you are NOT yet allowed for a visa or enter Taiwan.
Students who are qualified to enter Taiwan, please contact Division of Foreign Student Affairs, Office of International Affairs (OIA), NCHU beforehand.
OIA will submit the request to MOE for Overseas Student Entry Permit Certificate.
Without it, you can’t enter Taiwan and will be repatriated back to your home country.
All students should go to quarantine hotels directly after landing and pay the accommodations fees NTD 40,000 that includes 14-day-accomondation and meals.
(NTD 40,000 is Roughly equivalent to USD 1,340)

Students from low or mid- risk of infection countries/regions
Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Palau, Australia, New Zealand, Brunei, Fiji, Mongolia, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and Sri Lanka, in total of 19 countries.Besides nationality, students should qualify one of the statuses as followed:
- New degree students enrolled for the academic year 2020-2021
- Recipients of the pre-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Program (L.E.P.) under the Taiwan Scholarship Program by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (M.O.F.A.).
- Current degree students
- 2019-2020 graduating class
- Current degree students
- 2019-2020 graduating class
Mainland China students
- Only 2019-2020 graduating class is permitted currently
